Thanks to all those who regularly support the work of our local Foodbank. No one in our community should have to face going hungry. The Foodbank provides three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred in a crisis. They are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK. Since opening in December 2012 they have given out 238,824.27 kg of food to 21,775 members of the public. 14,612 adults and 7,163 children have used their services over the past 7 years! This equates to 195,975 meals given out in the lifetime of Foodbank. This just demonstrates how needed the Foodbank really is. Donations of food can be left at any time in the Presbytery Front Porch.
Donations of any size are always welcome. Particularly needed at the moment are tinned meat, tinned rice pudding, tinned fruit, jam, squash, uht milk & carrier bags.
